i think they did a good job.

we are away this weekend.

a brother and a sister

were born
two weeks ago.
they seem healthy -
and happy so far.
i had a hard time
getting decent photos of them.
so far
we can't agree
on their names.

whenever i put on
my shoes and coat.

a new friend

i am
usually
quite
shy.
i really am
an introvert.
but,
blogging has been
good for me.
i've put myself 'out there' -
a little bit.
and people really are friendly.
i made a new friend last week.
i contacted Geninne -
a fellow blogger,
and artist.
i offered her some feathers
that i had -
because i noticed
she collected them.
and she
offered me
one of her
lovely little watercolor prints.
isn't it adorable?
i love getting mail.

a fabric swap

i signed up for a

hand printed fabric swap.

which is quite exciting.

i'm not sure yet 

what i am going to print.

but, i've been experimenting 

with different methods,

and generally having fun.

i have my fabric 

cut up into quarters -

and some ideas

in my head.

now i need to 

get to work on it,

and mail it away 

before we take off next week.

these are some of my experiments...

but, they're in my garden

and the sun is 

finally making an appearance.

i am having

a trial run

i have signed myself up
for another swap.
this time it is
something handmade
that i need to send
to someone.
so, i decided
to use some of my
handprinted fabric
to create a bag.
this is just a trial run -
i need to
iron out
some of the quirks.
but, i quite like it -
and will keep this one
for my very own.

i have also

so i have been trying 

to figure that out too.

a sweet 16

we had a special birthday
this weekend.
i spent quite a bit of time
planning a surprise for her.
and it was actually
a surprise for me -
that we managed
to pull it off.
she was so surprised,
she cried.
what an awesome response!
it made all the preparations,
and the lying -
worth the effort.
my camera was tied up
with the photo booth.
and truth be told -
i never even thought of taking photos
anywhere else -
i was having so much fun.
so -
i have none from the party,
but, the photo booth was
a big hit ...
