a bookaholic

i have a book problem.
and here's a funny thing -
i hate the library.
i don't want to
borrow books.
i want to keep them
all for myself.
at any given time
i have several books
on the go.
here is what i am 'reading'
currently....

and here is my stack
of art type books.

and sewing type books.

and i've already discussed
my magazine obsession -
over here.

and i won't even start to tell you
about the bookshelves
or the stacks
laying around everywhere else.
i just can't get enough.

a needle & thread

i haven't
done much embroidery
in the past.
but it is kind of a relaxing
little project to take on.

a fish painting

i finished another painting
this past week.
i really like this one.

a baconator

bacon 'n' eggs.

for my niece abby -

she calls herself 

'the baconator'.

happy birthday silly girl!

a new medium

oooo clay.
i haven't worked with it much.
and i don't know
about actually sculpting.
but, i am having fun
making these beads
for a bracelet.

ok i went
a little crazy -
buying all the nice colors.
maybe i should
make a bunch of bracelets -
and open a shop on etsy?

anyone out there reading
have an etsy shop?
does it help pay for
your art supply addiction?

a trip to opus

i love opus.
it is my local
art supply shop.
i always
have to restrain myself.
but, yesterday -
i did come away
with a few treasures.
it is such a random
little purchase -
i'm sure
the cashier wondered -
what i planned to do
with this collection.

a bunch of beginnings

i have this
color/paint thing
down.
i love
the process of choosing the colors -
and finding cool ways
to get them onto
the canvas or boards.
and, i am loving
how they look.
they feel kind of stand alone.
but, i really feel
like i need to add
something.
something in the forefront -
a focal point -
a recognizable shape or image.
i'm stumped.
anyone have any advice?

finished a canvas -
from the bloom true course
i took last year.
there is more to come -
i plan to finish
all that i have already started.

a sloth

well, it is official.
i am lazy.
over the holidays
i didn't take out the camera
at all!
not one photo.
i mostly just acted like a sloth.
then,
hello new year -
and the kids
were still home -
all week.
so,
no getting back into a routine.
well this week -
i am hoping -
to get back on track.
so far
it is not working well for me.
there are so many things
i should be doing.
i hate that word.

i am promising myself

to be back soon -

to show off some of my creations.

i am aiming to make everyday.
