i was really late
for my june
sweet post.
i ended up
sending both june & july -
on the same day.
both were going
to the netherlands.
one for karin,
and one for noelle.
i put them together
at the same time too -
so they are virtually
the same.
i had a lot of fun
decorating
the paper bag envelopes
i made.

there is a bag,
made from a
children's book page.
a postcard,
some birch bark,
some dutch trim,
a beautiful vintage bird cut out,
a daisy stamp
& little daisy cushions,
and some butterfly tissues.
i love getting these packages
in the mail.

i received an
unexpected surprise
in the mail.
from juniper -
in malta.
some paper scraps,
a handwritten letter,
some yummy chocolates,
hand printed fabric,
and a lovely,
little,
heart-shaped,
pot holder.
thank you so much juniper!

i have signed up
for a mail trade.
there are 12 of us
from all over
the world -
which is very exciting!
i am enjoying
making new friends
this way.
yesterday
i received
my first mail -
all the way from portugal
from Telma.
she makes some beautiful jewelry.
here is what she sent me...

some patterned paper,
notebooks,
tea from portugal,
a letter
and a beautiful necklace,
that she made herself -
with the cutest
little pinecone charm.

i will get to send her
something back
in december.

i've had these a while.

i bought them 

at a little shop.

i love the handwriting,

and the stamps & postmarks,

and how the addresses

have very little detail

and still managed to 

find their destination.

and i love the fact that 

'miss hardy' 

received quite a lot of mail.

i am a crazy collector -

i know.

a covert robin

i signed up
for another swap.
it is kind of exciting
to received something
in the mail.
i need to be careful though
not to get too carried away
with these swaps.
the deadlines
can be stressful.
i can't reveal
who it is going to -
yet.
but, it is completed,
and was mailed out
two weeks ago.

i made a cute pouch
with some of
my hand printed fabric.
i used a coordinating zipper
and lining fabric,
and i embroidered on the linen.
i used this free pattern -
which is awesome -
and easy.

i am

quite
shy.
i really am
an introvert.
but,
blogging has been
good for me.
i've put myself 'out there' -
a little bit.
and people really are friendly.
i made a new friend last week.
i contacted Geninne -
a fellow blogger,
and artist.
i offered her some feathers
that i had -
because i noticed
she collected them.
and she
offered me
one of her
lovely little watercolor prints.
isn't it adorable?
i love getting mail.
